Len Thielen started his carrier with the company as a part timer at Jewel Foods at 106 S Laramie, Chicago, Illinois on June 5, 1959. He worked at locations in Oak Park, Illinois and Cicero, Illinois in various capacities before accepting a position in Auditing in 1963. He remained in that position for five years before joining the accounting group in 1968. In 1970 Len joined Ron Green in Loss Prevention for Osco Drug and held various position in the department before being transferred in 1987 to California and the Sav-on Drug division to head up Loss Prevention in that area. After 42 years of service with Osco/Sav-on, Len retired in November of 2001.
Len and his wife Phyllis moved back to the Chicagoland area in March of 2004 to be close to their family, relatives and friends. Phyllis and Len have been married for 39 years and have three children. Mark who lives in Dallas, Texas is and animator and has been involved in the production of such movies as “Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius” “Ant Bully” “Blades of Glory” as well as many commercials. Susan who was an outstanding teacher has taken a leave of absence to be a stay at home mother and lives with her husband Dave in Monument, Colorado enjoying life with their two daughters Emily and Olivia. Becky just got married August 2009 to her husband Dan and lives in Chicago. She is an administrative assistant for a medical firm in Chicago.
Phyllis and Len enjoy traveling and spending time helping the nieces and nephews with their children (soon to be eleven). Len also enjoys biking and other physical activity.
After returning to Chicago, Len became active with the Alumni Club initially as Social Director and currently in the role of Membership Director.
