Kevin Campbell....On July 3rd of this year I retired from Home of the Sparrow, Inc. after nine years of service. Leaving HOS ended a 44 yr. career in Retail Management under many banners, formats, and locations with profit and not for profit organizations. Five months into retirement have been busy. Most importantly, I have been able to help more as a caretaker for my 93 yr. old father. I take many walks, bike rides, have played several rounds of golf, and have made several trips to my Dads Lakehouse in Northern Wisconsin. I now am able to increase my involvement in my Knights of Columbus Council and spend more time pursuing my singer/songwriter aspirations. I get together with a good friend once or twice a week playing and writing music. We have a You Tube site called "Kev and Rob's Music...aka Frankies Fools" where we have some of our songs and videos. We are also part of a band called "Ps150" and we have made a handful of live performances. Attached is a photo of Ps150 performing at a neighborhood Block Party in Cary,IL. As busy as things have been, my retirement will experience a new frontier when the winter weather hits and outdoor activities become more limited but thus far it has been a blast. I am forever grateful to the advice and insistence of my first Osco store manager, the late Don Gokey, who made sure I understood the benefits of JCRE when I reached eligibility status as an Assistant Manager. My wife Cindi continues to work. We still reside in Algonquin, IL.
