Atrium, Best Buy Partner to Develop New Hospital-at-Home

Regional health system Atrium Health is partnering with tech retailer Best Buy to co-design hospital-at-home programming, to bolster Atrium's existing program and sell other clients down the line.

  • The partnership will combine with existing telemedicine infrastructure with Best Buy Health, the retailer's healthcare vertical that includes care-at-home business Current Health, along with its home installation and supply chain capabilities.

  • Atrium launched its hospital-at-home during the early days of Covid-19,in a bid to address a surge in patient volumes at its facilities. Since then, the program has grown to address conditions including cardiac needs, COPD, pneumonia and post operative care.

  • Atrium currently cares for 200 patients a month and the program has served 6,300 patients and freed 25,000 hospital bed days since its launch in March 2020.
