Regional health system Atrium Health is partnering with tech retailer Best Buy to co-design hospital-at-home programming, to bolster Atrium's existing program and sell other clients down the line.
The partnership will combine with existing telemedicine infrastructure with Best Buy Health, the retailer's healthcare vertical that includes care-at-home business Current Health, along with its home installation and supply chain capabilities.
Atrium launched its hospital-at-home during the early days of Covid-19,in a bid to address a surge in patient volumes at its facilities. Since then, the program has grown to address conditions including cardiac needs, COPD, pneumonia and post operative care.
Atrium currently cares for 200 patients a month and the program has served 6,300 patients and freed 25,000 hospital bed days since its launch in March 2020.
