We had a small gathering of four for our first Romeo Brunch at the General Store beginning our Fall 2018 sessions. Veterans all, we gathered on the patio in the 90 degree temperature and endless sunshine. I can tell you honestly, that all four did not look a day older than the last gathering some four months ago. Ron Grove experienced numerous lake stories and survived to share the stories. Stan Petersen looked like an older Tiger Woods, but with many less awesome golf accomplishments. Brent Kiel, although moderately wounded from painting mishaps around his house maintained his appetite from old. Yours truly is still attempting to put one foot in front of the other, without falling down and succeeding, marginally. After the normal pleasantries we shared some travel and family stories. In all cases, the pet stories were the most entertaining and we agreed that we would have a Romeo Brunch with dogs on an upcoming Friday. Finally, company that can be enjoyed by all. We did dip our toes into the political conversations only briefly and the one thing we all agreed on was that Congress has accomplished absolutely nothing over the last many months. Have you noticed that when some clown is photographed give a speech in a chamber, they only show the speaker. That is because the room is virtually empty. Their endless photo-ops, accusations, finger pointing, posturing have proven that the only worthy cause of note, is to replace everyone of them. A travel note, Moe and Annie Murray have returned from their two week trip to Italy to celebrate their 40th anniversary. I looked, but did not see any Italian outrage over any grifters creating havoc over there. John Spellman is on his way to Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland and will return the end of September. Good to see the world. Best wishes to all. Remember we are meeting on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each Month until January.
