Donald Dean Clay, age 87, of Bloomington ,formerly of Normal, passed away on Thursday January 17, 2019 at Martin Health Center in Bloomington at 7:35 AM. Cremation Rites were accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements.He was born September 8, 1931, in Warren County, Iowa to Harley and Lorraine Clay. He married Phyllis Baker on March 3, 1957 in Waterloo, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Donna (Bill) McNamee of Indian Head Park, IL, Deanna (Mike) DeCou of Mesa, AZ. three grandchildren, Kelly (Tyler) Parks, Brianna McNamee, and Shea DeCou; and one great granddaughter, Camilla Parks. Donald was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington and Perdido Bay United Methodist Church in Pensacola, FL. Donald graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 1953 and was active duty in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a member of BPOE and Bloomington Downtown Council. He worked for OSCO Drug for 37 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed woodworking and along with his wife, he enjoyed nature and travel.
